Accountable Officer I
have worked as a manager in the NHS for 28 years, joining the service as a national Graduate Management Trainee in 1986. I have had a range of senior roles managing clinical and operational services across a variety of general acute and teaching hospitals in London. Latterly I have been a Director and then Chief Officer in Primary Care Trusts and Clinical Commissioning Groups.
Through my own work, personal, friends and family experiences I am fiercely committed to the NHS principles and values. I believe that Clinical Commissioning Groups provide a real opportunity to improve services for the local population through harnessing the views of patients and clinicians. I am particularly interested in how we, as a CCG, can drive all the diverse parts of the health and social care system to work smarter and more effectively together in the interests of our patients, service users and carers.
I hold a first degree in Law & Politics and a Masters in Public Policy and Administration from the University of London.
